Student Podcasts

Many of us a guilty secret...we listen to podcasts. True Crime? Political? Sports? Economics? People have opinions. People want to hear the opinions but many of us don't have the time to sit down and read them. So- we listen to them in the car, at the gym, on long walks with the dogs, etc.

Why not give our students the opportunity to learn how to create a podcast? It brings all of the 'things' we're supposed to teach together: reading, writing, listening, speaking.

National Public Radio (perhaps the first 'podcast' of them all) as a dedicated series for teachers and in-classroom podcasting. They even have a contest students can enter to make the end result a little more valuable. Check out the links below:
